- Vietnamese handmade embroidery is a 700-year-old tradition. Usually, tiny threads are used to create brightly coloured pictures on cloth. It is a popular extra-curriculular activity in high school for young girls together with cooking and cloth sewing. It was a part of the Vietnamese culture; traditionally, girls are expected to know how to decorate pillowcases, curtains and tableclothes with hand embroidery.
Since the 1960's, hand embroidery in Vietnam has been raised to the level of an art. Many large pictures in different sizes, some as large as 2.5x2 yards, have been made. Popular topics include Vietnamese history, landscapes, animals, flowers, and religious scenes.

Vietnamese handmade pottery refers to pottery designed or produced in Vietnam. Vietnamese pottery and ceramics has a long history spanning back to thousands of years ago, including long before Chinese domination, as archeological evidence supports. Much of Vietnamese pottery and ceramics after the Chinese-domination era was largely influenced by Chinese art, but has developed over time to be distinctly Vietnamese. Vietnamese pottery and ceramics were an essential part of the trade between Vietnam and its neighbors during feudalistic times, throughout many dynasties.
Bát Tràng porcelain and pottery is a worldwide famous brandname of ceramic made in the village of Bát Tràng, suburban outskirts of Hanoi, north Vietnam. The village is located in an area rich in clay suitable for making fine ceramic. Bat Trang Ceramic is condidered one of the some well-known porcelain products in Vietnam besides those of Chu Đậu, Đồng Nai, Phu Lang, Ninh Thuận.
